We will trace the history of 'majolica' as we pull out the paint brushes and explore the exciting possibilities of rich and vibrant color on pieces of pottery. A simple mug form will become something fantastic as you use your imagination with this highly ornate surface treatment. . The forms maybe traditional or modern, handbuilt or wheel thrown. All skills levels in working with clay are welcome.

These are places where ideas could begin to enter our lives quietly. Whether it is through the accessibility of a cup or the seemingly benign surface of a bowl. Ceramics could be your new canvas. This course is an opportunity for students with interest in painting, drawing or printmaking to apply their skills on paper and canvas to the surface of ceramics.
