2015 Featured Artists :: Demonstrations
Friday | May 8th | 5:00-7:00pm | SPRING FEATURED ARTISTS
Friday | October 9 | 5:00-7:00pm | AUTUMN FEATURED ARTISTS
We warmly invite you to our Artists' Reception in the Gallery to showcase new and exciting work by our featured artists as well as many new pieces from our innovative and talented juried craft members. Fresh baked treats as well as drinks will be served.
Matt Brown: " I make prints using water, rice paste and pure pigments from multiple carved wood blocks. My work is inspired by the Ukiyo-e-prints of Japan.
Boyan Moskov: " Working with clay brings balance and satisfaction to my life. I use a dark brown clay body, thrown on the wheel and then I manipulate the piece. I use metal oxides to add more color variations and a golden glaze to accent the work.
Lauren Pollaro: " My work is a fusion of many interests, materials and techniques. All of my work is inspired by color. Color evokes a reaction, can be mood altering and brings a vitality to my pieces. Inspiration is also drawn from creating work with materials that are unexpected. Lauren finds it satisfying to harmonize the chaos of many disparate options.
Melinda LaBarge: Melinda is a silk and wool artisan who specializes in the Nuno felt technique. 'Nuno" from the Japanese word meaning cloth, is a technique that bonds loose fiber, usually wool onto a sheer fabric such as silk. Melinda specializes in scarves, shawls and pillows.
