This could be a private lesson(s) or an opportunity for you and a group of friends to do something fun and productive; or the celebration of a special occasion like a birthday. |

Precious Metal Clay For The Curious

The possibilities of integrating this exciting new material with clay, metal, glass and mixed media will be explored in this workshop. The focus will be an overview of Precious Metal Clay (PMC) and its related products. While you make hollow forms and molds to integrate into a pendant or bracelet, Marcia will show you the ins and outs of integrating PMC with other mediums. The workshop is open to people working in metal, clay, glass and mixed media as well as those just curious about PMC. A supply list will be mailed at registration, which includes PMC materials to bring.

Photoshop As A Design Tool For Fiber Or Other Medium

Photoshop is a wonderful tool for fabric design—woven or printed—and it is also useful for any other medium that uses imagery and patterns. This class will teach you ways to manipulate imagery, make repeats, and turn your designs into loom-ready files to be woven or printed at a mill. Beginners to advanced users of Photoshop can take this workshop. Photoshop instruction will be geared to a material output, rather than to photography. Materials fee includes 1 yard of warp tapestry jacquard or 15 swatches of printed fabric designs. You will need to bring a computer with Photoshop CS or Photoshop Elements installed. |

We will find out if viewers read the work the way you intend. What is missing? What is inspiring? Both finished and work in progress will be discussed. Makers using different media will bring helpful insights to each other. Bring a piece of your work you don’t like or are questioning and a piece in process. |

Working Outside The Box: Covered Containers In Unusual Shapes

Polymer clay enables us to make containers in any shape we wish so why are there so many boxes that are round or rectangular? Kathleen discusses shape design principles and will lead you through making an interior mold and a container with inside rim like her purses. You may also make a hollow-formed large bead or brooch. You will provide all your own materials for this workshop. This is an intermediate to advanced level workshop. A supply list will be mailed on registration. |
