Long-handle Broom-making

  • CraftStudies Studio & School 87 Maple Street Hartford, VT, 05001 United States (map)

Sunday, April 19, 2026 | 10A - 4P | One-day workshop | $175

In this workshop we’ll explore the construction of handled brooms. Using the “tumble spool” method to bind broom corn to different sized handles, and learn different methods to complete the winding. We’ll finish off by stitching the main section of the broom to give it strength. By varying the size, materials, and technique we’ll be able to create hearth brooms, small house brooms, or full-sized parlor brooms. Students will start the day learning some basic techniques and will complete a small broom in the morning and a larger broom in the afternoon. All materials and tools will be provided by the instructor.

Supplies: All materials are included with registration.
