Our Welcome to the Studio classes offer an introduction to the basic skills and techniques of metalsmithing, while providing students a chance to become familiar with the tools, equipment, and unique community resources of the CraftStudies’ Jewelry Studio.
The skills and tools introduced through these classes are foundational to the safe use of CraftStudies Jewelry Studio, as well as a prerequisite for our Sharpening Your Skills & Intermediate/Advanced classes.
These classes are designed for those 16 years old or older.

Our Intermediate & Advanced classes are designed for experienced students seeking to expand their technical and conceptual jewelry-making skills. A strong focus is placed on craftsmanship, design development, and the refinement of personal artistic voice.
Our Welcome to the Studio classes offer this introduction to the skills and techniques covered in these classes. Prior experience in one or more of our Welcome to the Studio classes, or the equivalent is required to take these classes.
These classes are designed for those 16 years old or older.
One-Day Workshops
One day workshops enable learners to do everything from dipping their toes into world jewelry design, to diving deeper into a specific technique. Some workshops are designed for all levels, while some require prior experience.
Tool School
Our studio is proud to offer a collection of specialized equipment that require formal training from a certified Jewelry Studio Staff on these equipment in order to use.. This training is intended to ensure everyone’s safety and the longevity of our equipment in our community studio.
Micro Pulse Arc Welder: Micro pulse arc welding is widely known to be a useful tool to increase efficiency with closing jump rings, attaching bails and earring posts, ring sizing, making connections near heat-sensitive stones, and much more!
Lapidary: Learn how to cut, shape, and polish stone to create one of a kind gems. The following equipment will be covered through this training: Lapidary, Rock Saw, Trim Saw, Cabbing Machine, and Dopp Buddy.
Private trainings are 2 hours in length, and are scheduled based on the availability of the student, teaching artist and studio.
