Prepare a variety of silk and cotton fabric by stitching, folding, and binding into patterns. Dip them into the natural indigo vat, then watch as it turns blue before your eyes; lift it out and remove the resist to reveal the unique pattern. We will discuss the chemistry of the indigo dye process. A variety of fabrics and a silk scarf are included with registration. Additional items will be available for purchase to be dipped including silk and velvet fabric, yarn and white shirts.
