Teaching Artist: Amy VanderKooi

Originally a Japanese technique to mend and reinforce clothing, traditionally with white thread on blue fabric, sashiko is also lovely for modern decorative design. In this workshop we will explore its history, practice the running stitch approach and learn how to draw our own stitching patterns. We will start several small sampler pieces that can be incorporated into other work when completed.
