Botanical Ink-Making

  • CraftStudies, Inc. 87 Maple Street Hartford, VT, 05001 United States (map)

Teaching Artist: Emma Percy

Many plants we encounter on a daily basis without thinking twice contain fantastic pigments for making ink, dye, and paint. In this workshop we will make a few batches of concentrated botanical ink using wild and cultivated plants, exploring hot and cold processes for extracting color, natural color modifiers and preservatives, and options for improving permanence and colorfastness.

$75
