Guest Artist: Sarah Clark of Scale House Print Shop

This class is designed for those who want to explore letterpress printing a little further, have several projects in mind, or want to design something with multiple colors and layers. (Beginners are also welcome!) We’ll meet each Tuesday evening in October (we may reschedule the Halloween class), and class takers should plan to complete between 2 and 4 projects over the five weeks, depending on the complexity of their design. You’ll have full access to Scale House Print Shop’s collection of wood and metal type, ornaments, and hand-carved illustrations, and you’re welcome to bring your own linocut illustrations to print, as well. Printing will be done on a 12 by 18 Chandler & Price press manufactured in 1913 and a 7 by 11 Golding Pearl from 1892.

Those who complete this class will be eligible to rent supervised studio space at SHPS in the future.
