Learn basic metalsmithing skills and jewelry making techniques in this hands-on introductory class. Get to know the studio and become familiar with the tools, equipment, and unique community resources to help you grow as a metalsmith. Through an exploration of one of the most simple yet effective forms in the jeweler’s toolkit, students will manipulate wire to form diverse linkages. Using both hot and cold connections, learn techniques for joining and embellishing chains to create earrings, a necklace or bracelet that is both elegant and complex! Supplies for learning these foundational skills are included. Additional supplies may be purchased through the studio shop. Bench Time is included with registration throughout the duration of this class.
