Working with freshly harvested green wood, participants learn the foundational grips and techniques of spoon carving with a straight knife and a bent/hook knife. With an emphasis on safety and steady progress, participants learn how wood type and grain influence carving while crafting a personal kitchen spoon. Instruction on drying, decoration, and finishing is offered at the end of the session. All tools and materials are provided.
