Sewing Basics: Piped Pillowcase

If you've never used a sewing machine or you’d simply like a refresher, this series of workshops is for you! Each of these short accessible workshops will build your sewing confidence!

Nothing finishes off a pillow like piping! Take your sewing skills to the next level while making the home decor of your dreams! Choose complimentary fabrics to create a custom and durable throw pillowcase with piping and a hidden zipper!

Choose from a variety of fabrics from our collection, or bring along the materials to personalize your project. A materials list will be sent to registered students in advance of the workshop.

Bring your own sewing machine (along with its associated “feet” and manual) or use one of the studio’s sewing machines.

Sewing Basics: Zipper Pouches

If you've never used a sewing machine or you’d simply like a refresher, this series of workshops is for you! Each of these short accessible workshops will build your sewing confidence!

Learn how to integrate a conventional zipper and an invisible zipper by making two zipper pouches. Begin with a simple flat rectangular pouch, then move onto a slightly more advanced box bottom pouch. Learn simple techniques that will enable you to make more pouches in any size you desire!

Choose from a variety of fabrics from our collection, or bring along the following to personalize your project: 1/2 yard of 2 fabrics, 1 nylon zipper at least 16 inches long,  

Bring your own sewing machine (along with its associated “feet” and manual) or use one of the studio’s sewing machines.

Sewing Basics: Tote Bag

If you've never used a sewing machine or you’d simply like a refresher, this series of workshops is for you! Each of these short accessible workshops will build your sewing confidence!

Working with a simple pattern, make a lined tote bag with handles. Practice marking your project, cutting double layers of fabric, proper pinning, maintaining your seam allowance and backstitching to create a versatile tote bag.

Choose from a variety of fabrics from our collection, or bring along the following to personalize your project: 1/2 yard of 2 fabrics; either quilting cotton or a light weight decorator fabric.  

Bring your own sewing machine (along with its associated “feet” and manual) or use one of the studio’s sewing machines.

Sewing Basics: Pillowcase

If you've never used a sewing machine or you’d simply like a refresher, this series of workshops is for you! Each of these short accessible workshops will build your sewing confidence!

This workshop will introduce you to the anatomy of the sewing machine and how to get started including, bobbin winding, threading, stitch selection and sewing a variety of seams. Together, we will make a quick and easy, yet endlessly customizable, pillowcase.

Choose from a variety of fabrics from our collection, or bring along the following to personalize your project: 3/4 yard for the body of the pillow, 1/4 yard for the cuff & 1/4 yard for accent.  Recommend 100% quilting cotton.

Bring your own sewing machine (along with its associated “feet” and manual) or use one of the studio’s sewing machines.
