Enameling is an old art of using finely crushed glass powder to add color to copper or fine silver sheet. You’ll use a kiln or a torch to heat up the fine glass dust so that it melts into a smooth, glossy surface on the metal surface. We will experiment by firing color enamels on copper with a torch.
Supplies: $5-25, payable to instructor. Due to glass powder, it is recommended that you bring your own respirator, a N95 mask or surgical mask to avoid inhaling glass powder.
